Emergency full re-deck and waterproofing of a residential block following severe storm damage, completed in two weeks from first attendance to handover. Absolute Waterproofing was called in by the managing agent after high winds removed a substantial section of the existing covering, leaving occupied apartments directly exposed to the weather.

The building was fully occupied and water was already entering the top-floor flats. The existing timber deck and several joists were found to be saturated and structurally compromised once the covering was lifted. The managing agent needed the block made watertight immediately, with a permanent solution delivered before the next weather front arrived.

A temporary weathertight covering was installed within hours of first attendance to stop further ingress and protect residents. The failed deck was then stripped in full, damaged joists were cut out and replaced, and a new plywood deck was laid. A Bauder reinforced bituminous membrane system was installed over new insulation, with all perimeter details, upstands and outlets renewed to match.

The block was permanently watertight within fourteen days of the initial storm damage, with no further ingress reported. Residents remained in occupation throughout. The completed roof carries a full manufacturer guarantee, and the works were signed off by the managing agent inside the insurance timescale.
