Project overview
New-build single ply roofing to a large-format logistics unit, delivered as a subcontract package to a national main contractor. The scope covered the full roof envelope including vapour control layer, thermal insulation, mechanically fastened membrane, rooflights, and all edge and penetration detailing.
The challenge
At 12,400 m² this was a high-volume package on a tightly sequenced industrial programme, with the roof on the critical path to building watertight. The exposed site location made the roof susceptible to wind uplift during installation, and the programme ran through a period of sustained autumn weather.
Our solution
Absolute Waterproofing mobilised three crews working in parallel bays with a fixing pattern designed to the specific wind uplift calculation for the site and building height. A rolling watertight line was maintained at all times so no open deck was ever left overnight, and daily weather windows were agreed with the main contractor at each morning coordination meeting.
The result
Building watertight was achieved two weeks ahead of the contract date, releasing the follow-on internal fit-out early. The package was completed with zero reportable incidents across more than 11,000 operative hours and a main contractor performance score in the top band.
