Absolute Waterproofing operatives working on a commercial roof
COAbout Absolute

Built around the part of the job that actually fails

Absolute Waterproofing is a specialist commercial flat roofing and waterproofing contractor working across the UK construction industry. We are part of the Absolute Group, a performance-driven construction and maintenance business, and we work almost exclusively on commercial, industrial and public sector buildings.

01The company

A contractor, not a broker

We undertake flat roofing and waterproofing projects for main contractors, developers, estates teams and public sector clients across the UK. The work runs from single-unit repairs through to twelve thousand square metre new build packages, and everything between.

What separates us from most of the market is that we are directly employed. Our operatives are on our books rather than sourced through agencies contract by contract. That costs more and it is the reason our safety and quality performance holds across a long programme instead of moving with whoever turned up that week.

We hold approvals with every major manufacturer whose systems we install, which means the guarantee is real rather than nominal. Manufacturers audit our installations. That is an inconvenience we accept because it is the client's only genuine assurance that the roof was built the way it was specified.

We operate from two regional offices. Coleshill in the West Midlands covers the Midlands and everything south. Congleton in Cheshire covers the North and Scotland. The office nearest your project is the one that runs it, so the contracts manager who priced it is the one who turns up.

02How we work

Four things we do not compromise on

These are not values in a brochure sense. They are the four decisions that most often cost us money in the short term and win us the next contract in the long one.

01

Directly employed

Our operatives are on our books, not sourced through agencies job by job. It is the only way to hold quality and safety performance across a long programme, and it is why main contractors return to us.

02

Evidence before price

We survey, core and moisture test before we specify. If a roof can be overlaid rather than stripped, we will tell you, even though the smaller job is worth less to us.

03

No surprises on programme

The constraints get worked out before the contract is let, not during it. Access, plant, crane windows, occupation and weather all sit in the sequence from day one.

04

Documented throughout

RAMS, technical submittals, integrity test records, photographic handover and O&M documentation are part of the job, not an afterthought chased at the end of it.

03Safety, quality, people, environment

The things a pre-qualification team asks about

Set out plainly, because on public sector and main contractor work these are assessed before price is even opened.

Health & safety

CHAS and SafeContractor accredited with a documented safety management system. Every operative is CSCS carded and working at height trained. We specify hot-work-free systems on occupied buildings as standard, which removes the single largest fire risk from the works.

Quality

Manufacturer approved across every system we install, with operatives assessed on detailing specifically. Works are inspected at defined hold points and signed off by the manufacturer technical team before guarantee issue.

Training & development

We recruit apprentices every year and train them through to NVQ and full CSCS status. Existing operatives are put through manufacturer system training as we take on new systems, and supervisors are supported through SSSTS and SMSTS.

Environmental responsibility

Environment Agency registered for controlled waste. We prioritise overlay over replacement where the survey supports it, which diverts substantial tonnage from landfill, and we install green and biodiverse roof systems as a specialism rather than a bolt-on.

04Management

Have a project for us?

Send Absolute Waterproofing your roofing enquiry or tender. Drawings, specifications and a link to the tender information can all go with it, and our estimating team will come back to you with a considered price rather than a holding email.
